Several dozen Historic Structures Reports (HSR) have been completed for heritage organizations across the Mid-South. One is now a state historic site (General Joseph Wheeler) in Alabama, several are visitor centers, historic Clover Bottom Mansion was adaptively restored into a state government office facility and industrial resources have been converted to museums. In Stanton, an abandoned school house became a town center and library. The Bowling Green railroad depot was converted to a visitor information center and organization offices. A milk processing plant in Fayetteville became a museum. For a list of HSRs, see Historic Structures Reports bibliography. Materials are not available for loan; however, researchers may use the Center's collection during regular business hours. To arrange an appointment, call CHP at 615. 898.2947 or e-mail at histpres@mtsu.edu. The Center also develops shorter reports intended to diagnose specific problems in historic buildings and to suggest appropriate corrective measures. |
